Holiday 08

Monday, August 11, 2008

Everyone is a little sick this week. Avery has so lovingly passed around her cold, so we're all sniffling and coughing. Liam had a follow-up appointment with his GI dr this week - and all is looking well. He's doing so much better being on his meds...

Avery is still doing well at daycare...she actually gets excited about going now. We all went to an APO reunion yesterday and had a blast catching up with everyone...I'll post pictures below.

I've also got my new website up for CurlyLocks - www.curlylocksdesigns.com - check it out!

Getting Slack…

Sorry for not updating in a while. Everyone’s doing well. Liam has now said da da and bye bye…and has his two bottom teeth in. He’s been eating solid food for about 2 weeks now, and loves pretty much anything. He’s not rolled over from back to belly yet, but he’s getting really close and anything you hand him goes right into his mouth. He loves kisses on his cheeks, and quite frequently laughs out loud when you get them.

Avery’s doing well too – she’s starting to make simple sentences, “hey sissy”, “it’s sissy” (that’s what she calls Liam) and last night she said “nite nite quack quack” to the ducks as we were leaving the lake. She’s really blossoming into a little lady, and has to carry my purse around with her in the house. Our friend Sandi is making me a diaper bag and Avery a small purse that matches…it should be adorable. She’ll pretty much repeat everything you say now but her favorite word is still “hey”. She gets quite persistent with strangers if they don’t talk back.

Dee and I are doing good. I feel like a zombie most days – it’s tough getting up with Liam during the night and going to work the next day and being productive. I did get a sweet new Macbook pro though, so that’s making it easier to tolerate my job. We are planning a cruise for sometime next spring…we were thinking about going to Germany, but think we’ll put that off for our 10 year anniversary. As of now we’re leaning towards Bermuda…I’ve always heard that the beaches there are spectacular. And we’re still planning on going to the beach this September. I can’t wait to see how Avery reacts to the sand and water.

Apparently I wasn’t feeding him fast enough and someone had to help out…

Argh! So proud to be a pirate just like mommy and daddy!

Just an update...

Liam seems to be doing much better with his reflux - he's not coughing as much and the choking and gagging are gone...he's also slept through the night all this week - something he's never done. *Hope I'm not jinxing that* Avery is doing well - she's actually enjoying daycare now and the crying has stopped.

I'm adding a few pictures from last night of Avery and Dee feeding the geese/ducks and fish - one of our weekly traditions. And yes, those fish are as big as the geese...they're enormous. I'm also adding a few of Mr. Man just being Mr. Man.

Now that I have the controller, I'll say what we watch...

Mom! Enough already!

Please get me out of here Mr. Sun!

Avery's favorite part of the week - feeding the fowl and fish.

Teeth, already?!

Yep, that's right, he's not even 5 months old, and has 3 teeth popping through, and one more coming soon. Avery didn't have teeth until she was 7 months old, and then only 2...she never got anymore until she was well over 9 months old. He's already an over achiever. :)

General update: Liam had an endoscopy done last week. He did well, and the Dr did find that his esophagus and stomach have quite a bit of inflamation - and put him on 2 different meds to see if that will help. Other than that, he's doing well - he's blowing bubbles and babbling all the time. The daycare teachers love him to death and think he's the cutest. Avery is doing much better with daycare and hasn't cried any this week - thankfully. I think she's finally settling in to a routine and is beginning to like it.

I've been really slack with posting, so excuse me for the tons of pictures I have to post...

Beautiful lady...

Why am I in this thing?

The kids started daycare Monday. Liam is doing wonderfully but Avery is having some adjustment issues. She’s getting better, and her teacher is doing beautifully with her. Today was Friday Fun day and she got to bring along her favorite toy and snack.

Dee started his new job Monday as well, and so far so good. He’s already been on the road – he went to Greensboro and Fayetteville this week. I’ve been super busy at work which is helping take away the guilt I feel for leaving Avery at daycare. Monday was a rough day for all of us.

Last Sunday we took the kids swimming – Avery was a little unhappy at first, but grew to love splashing everyone quickly. She looked like a sumo wrestler in her floatie suit. Liam loved the water – and was super adorable in his swimwear.

We took them last night to have their pictures taken – I can’t wait to see them. A fellow mom from the area met us on the Davidson campus and I think she got some great stuff. I’ll make sure to post them once they’re back.

Camera Phone

Dee has been busily snapping away with his new phone, so I thought I'd post some from him...quality isn't great, but they sure are cute.

Pensive Avery...

This week...

We're all doing well this week. We took Liam back to the stomach doctor - no answers - he says that he's fine as long as he's gaining weight - he doesn't have to get up with him in the middle of the night because he's choking and gagging. Needless to say, we're getting a second opinion. His pediatrician isn't happy with this dr's assessment, so we're off to find more answers elsewhere. He's having to get back on his Neocate - the ultra expensive formula that you can only buy online...there was blood in his stool again, so back off the pretty expensive formula to the very expensive formula. He's eating into his college savings...=)

Playtime

This week has been pretty quiet. We did hear that Dee was offered a position with a new company and he'll be starting the second week in June - yippee! Avery and Liam are doing well, although we think Avery's either having it out with her back molars, or she has a cold. She did the cutest thing the other night at Petco - she loves to go see the kitties, and while she was looking in their cages, one was curled up asleep. She turned around and put her finger up to her lip and said "shh". It was too adorable.

Liam has now slept through the night 4 nights - we're hoping that's a sign of good things to come. He is sleeping in his swing, but, he's sleeping. He goes to his stomach doctor this week - he's been coughing and choking pretty badly when he eats, so we're going to see if they can change his medicine, or figure out why he's doing that.

Below are a few pictures from our day out at the park Saturday.

Come here duck!

I'm just going to hang out here with you mom...
